Falina is a beautiful 15.3 hand old bay Andalusian mare. We have trained her to second level dressage, taken her in several parades and on many long trail rides. Her solid build, forward movement and willing attitude has enabled her to excel in training and made her a pleasure to work with. She has produced two colts for us, Fastuoso FE and Capriano FE, as well as two fillies, Vida Dulce FE and Incendia FE. Falina and Incendia FE were acquired by Colleen Pedrotti and Keith Tippie of Keilen Ranch in British Columbia. Incendia was sold in utero and they are very happy with the results of the Falina CH x Gavilan IV cross.
Colleen wrote the following about Falina's pedigree:
Falina has
exceptional bloodlines and was bred by Carole Sievers of Chalk Hill Andalusians
in California.
Falina's sire, the black PRE stallion, Guarapo, was imported from Mexico to the
US and has had a successful breeding and show career there. Guarapo's sire,
Genil, a pure Terry stallion bred by Miguel Cardenas in Spain, was also exported
to Mexico and was a Champion of Champions in both Spain and Mexico. Guarapo's
dam, Intrusa II, is from the prestigious farm of Maria Fernanda de la Escalera
in Spain known for their exceptionally functional black and bay horses.
Falina's dam, Catalina Real, was also bred by Carole Sievers. Catalina's sire,
Canastero IX, was bred by Francisco Lazo Diaz, and is half brother to the
infamous Cordobes XX....the subject of several photos in Robert Vavra's books.
Catalina's dam, Espanola de la Parra, was bred by one of the foundation breeders
of Andalusians in the US....The Parra's of San Antonio, Texas....as was her
sire, Boticario. Boticario was the 1991 IALHA National Champion Halter Stallion,
was a multiple time movement champion, was trained to High-School dressage, and
was featured in the book by Robert Vavra entitled "Horses of the Sun".
